Between your CEO’s intolerance for failure, the daily ethical dilemma and do-or-die sales quota, chances are you’ll be made to look like a nincompoop in front of millions. Such is the premise of The Apprentice, NBC’s hit reality show in which real estate mogul Donald Trump tests (and crushes) young professionals vying for a position in his empire.

Another lesson learned is you don’t get anywhere by throwing your weight around and overpowering others—not long term, anyway. “Leadership is more than taking control,” Wilson explains. “It is listening to your teammates and anticipating the needs of the whole group. Leaders persuade their followers, not dictate to them. If we wanted to win, we had to put prejudices and resentments aside and look for the strengths in each other.”

Walk for Hope to aid breast-cancer fight

02 Oct 2007 - Attorney Roxanne Wilson, who appeared on the fifth season of The Apprentice, will lead Pray for a Cure, an educational forum about breast cancer in communities of color.

The event, featuring health workshops and information booths, is presented by Sistas of AZ in collaboration with the Black Nurses Association.
